How do I know if the library has a journal or newspaper I need?

Answer

Use UC Library Search to search for journals and newspapers in our database listings.

You must be connected to the VPN to access journals and newspapers while off campus. 

There are few pathways to get to journals and newspapers: 

Find Journals Using the Journals Quick Link 

1) Click on the Journals quick link from the UC Merced Library home page found within the UC Library Search search box. 

2) Once you enter the UC Library Search catalog, enter the journal title in the search box or use the categories on the left panel to browse journals by topic/subject. 

Find Journals Using UC Library Search 

1) Start at UC Library Search 

2) Click on Journals @ UC Merced from the top navigation panel

3) Enter the journal title in the search box or use the categories on the left side panel to view journals by topic/subject. 

 

Find Newspapers in UC Library Search 

1)  Start at UC Library Search 

2) Click on the "..." icon in the top navigation panel 

3) Select Newspapers from the menu

4) Select a Featured Newspaper to search within OR use the search box to locate another newspaper. 

 

Find Newspapers from the Database Listings

1) Click on the Databases quick link from the UC Merced Library home page, located within the UC Library Search search box. 

2) Use the All Types filter to select Newspapers from the dropdown menu.
