Q. How do I import a reference using RefGrab-It?

NOTE: RefGrab-It is associated with legacy RefWorks.  For new RefWorks, visit Tools and add the "Save to RefWorks bookmarklet" to your browser.

Legacy RefWorks Instructions:

First, make sure the RefGrab-It tool is installed.

  • Log in to RefWorks
  • Click on Tools from the gray bar at the top of the screen on your RefWorks homepage
  • Select RefGrabIt and follow the instructions to install as a bookmarklet in your browser

Once RefGrab-It is installed, follow these steps:

  • Navigate to any webpage and click on the bookmarklet in your browser. The RefGrab-It box will appear
  • Select the reference you want to import from the RefGrab-It box, and click Import to RefWorks

Troubleshooting Tip: If nothing happens when you click on the RefWorks button, check your other tabs to see if the references you’re importing are listed there. Sometimes RefWorks pulls up imported references in another tab.
