Review articles summarize or synthesize content from earlier published research and are useful if you want an overview of a topic in any given area of research. They can be found in library databases along with original research articles which are based on studies or experiments that have a hypothesis.
Most databases allow you to limit your search to include only review articles. Here are some strategies for limiting for review articles:
- Enter your key words on the database search screen, look for the section with LIMITS > DOCUMENT TYPE or ARTICLE TYPE, then select REVIEW or LITERATURE REVIEW
- Enter your key words on the database search screen, and in a separate search box include the term "review". Change field being searched form key word to DOCUMENT TYPE
